I’ve been watching the buildings rise

Vain like their creators

So thick with vacuum they are

Standing tall against the livid skies

In the windowpanes so blank

Shines a reflection of our inner grey

Drugged and despondent, we are all heading towards

The loss within the wastelands of ourselves

Nauseatingly sterile

Yet transparent just like looking glass

We are

Numb, inert

We’re reveling in our mere existence

Slowly reaching the limits

Of dullness beyond repair

We have witnessed the statues fall

Collapse like their creators

Giants of clay, walls of glass

Laid to waste under pregnant skies

In the stranglehold of progress

We welcome our own demise
