Man this house is freezing

The money must’ve run out again

That’s three mornings in a row now

I think I’ve got enough for the bus

I’ll think about dinner at dinner time

Just another day in this dull place

I’ll get a sub off the gaff

I leave the house into the dark morning

I brave the rain that whips at my face

Turn the corner, it’s bearing down

I resent the fact I have to run to get on it

But I start the chase, that bus race

The thing is I’ve got a plan, it’s ambitious I know

But it’s something I cling onto like a float in the deep dark sea

More warmth, more light and some company at night

I stare at the steamed up window
