Another year is passing

Another year is changing

Was it just numbered time?

And as the winter thaw sets in

And we prepare for spring time

As we hold our children so tight

And now the sun is out

The ice has all but melted

Awarm feeling inside starts to grow

But it seems somewhat hotter then we last remembered

Now inside something else starts to grow

My concern, my skepticism, my fear

They say record breaking heat

A record we didn’t want to break

I’m now aware of many things

But I can’t change your mind

Now the heat of the summer

It hits just like your head against the pavement
