You taught us how to run, when we could only walk

We took, you gave.

And you never asked for anything.

We cried every tear we had.

Sang every song that reminded us of you.

And with our fingers in the air we said your words.

One more night is all I ask of Chinese food and pictures of cats.

One more hug, one tearful goodbye.

Until the next time.

I’ll miss you every day.

I’ll question everything.

And when it’s hard to sleep.

I’ll remember Connecticut with you.
