Foraging for flesh

Any taste but rot

Three shapes rise

With starving eyes and blades

Like thousands before

Erased and consumed

Constant transformation

Sores that can’t heal

Liquefied organs

Shedding of skin

Immune to pain

No choices for decades

The controlling hand of survival

Bending the snake to eat its tail

The immortal hunter

Perfect killer

Vestigial thoughts flood back in a caustic memory

Condemned as a warped entity with pink flesh and benign eyes

Still innocent of fratricide

Lies helpless

Pleading

Empathic intuition

Long since beaten and devoured by instinct

Resurrects

Thoughts and second guesses

Are suicide now

Anything causing questions

Must be killed

Generations of splintered DNA

Should not have reproduced

It can’t live

Live to tell

Consuming its purity to conjure resolve

The taste is sweet and morbid

It bites as it slides down

A lifetime of domination

Now a slave to sickness
