Unsafe - Remission

Afraid to walk alone, it’s getting dark outside.

But even when there’s light I get

the same sensation of fright, despair.

As we daily breathe an air of hidden threat,

of random risk, it may emerge at any time or place.

Afraid, unsafe.

I don’t know where to go, those men are everywhere.

That which they can’t control, they try to dominate by force, abuse.

The insulting words or a nasty bruise are

the living proof that there is no change.

I’m doomed to walk afraid and unsafe.

Afraid at any time or place.

Unsafe at any time or place.

Educate for a future age when we can

all walk and not feel afraid and unsafe.
