It’s a cold New York winter night

I step onto the street and take flight

High on life I’m like nothing can stop me

Nothing can stop us, no one can stop me

I’m the same person that I’ve always been

Misunderstood but not completely innocent

I’m getting older though a little bit wiser

A little bit sharper, yeah just a little better

I see our empire from these lit up skies

This kingdom of hardships that we can’t deny

I was a stranger from a foreign place, I found my home

Here I found my self, my grace, the other pieces of my soul

It’s been a long hard road that I did not pave alone

There still a ways to go

But like I said nothing can stop me

Without family and love you could sweep all under the rug

We could never rise above
