It began so tense and acrid

You met my gaze greased in conflict

And the color of Mars…

Laid foul tongues on me with traitor’s eyes

Poured poison in my ears with murder in your mouth

You’ve become the lie

You wanted others to believe

I cannot trust that you will let

Go and I cannot

Reconcile with myself

I thought there would be stars but we are truly abandoned

The feeling is dire

Urgent and sinking

Sinking and deserted

Deserted and sad

The dawn, blue as flame

Crosses me and the stars fall once more

I cannot breathe, I have no lips

No teeth, no vision

Troubled, wide awake and calm

I feel so strange this time

It’s not the same as it was

I let the pain have its way

We’ve come to the third part of night

A single night as long as 100 years

We both mourn

I mourn for what has been

You mourn for what has yet to come

Sleep now, you black eyed pig

And fall into a deep pit filled with ghosts

To you, I am naught

To you, I am not

Without you, I am just a shadow

I quiet the mind…
