The Sickness in Me - Griever

I grasp at my throat and I try to breathe

My lungs are heavy and it seems…

I feel the sickness take me again

Running through my veins, driving me insane

This illness is all consuming

I feel I can’t escape, there is no way out

I feel alive when I am sleeping

And I dream when I am awake

Of a silence worth hearing

And a life that’s more than pain

I search for the cure but I can’t find a thing

My blood is running colder through my tattered veins

My heart is beating faster than ever before

My palms are sweaty and my eyes are crossed

My skin is crawling and my hands shake

There is no escape from the sickness in me
