A tyranny exercised for good

May sincerely be the most oppressive repressive

Who’s to say what’s best for me

In a robot world full of CCTV?

We need to turn the tide

We have the means but we lack execution

In a land where 'The Man' resides

There’s no peaceful revolution!

'Cos they speak for everybody else

Your freedom’s a pipe dream

Stop fooling yourself!

How can I trust this world to look out for me?

This lack of conviction is just so sad to see

How do I trust this world to understand love?

There’s no solidarity between 'them' and 'us'

'Them' and 'us'!

Looking back, it’s just the way I am

We’re shaking our cages

You want control of what you don’t have

Tyrants 'for the good of us all'

Now we’ve grown ever complacent

To the presence of an intruder

Is the illusion of safety worth the price

Of your freedom and future?

Don’t lie down like everybody else

They’re selling you out

So stand up for yourself!

Protection is just a cheap disguise

Control of the masses:

Their ultimate prize

How can I trust this world to look out for me?

How do I trust this world to understand love?

'Them' and 'us'!

There’s nothing

I take myself to an open place

Just to feel that freedom on my face

And it begs perspective;

is freedom objective

Or simply a matter of time and space?

Look at these people

Walking around like mindless drones!

Look at these people

Who eat what they’re fed and do what they’re told

Look at these people

On information overload

Look at these people living their lives in a cage

You can’t save me from me

How can I trust this world to look out for me?
